This guide provides parent-carers of autistic children with a comprehensive and replicable template for creating a chronology of key support service requests.

A chronology is a document which lists key events in a structured and chronological way. Parent-carers may wish to compile a chronology to help summarise key moments within their journey of accessing provision or support services for their children.

A good chronology is crucial for demonstrating who, when and how requests for support, provision or access to services were actioned, progressed or denied.

A chronology not only allows parent-carers to track their support requests, but can help protect parents and carers from blaming narratives by demonstrating parental proactivity.

This product is designed to support autistic people, their families and their allies when requesting and accessing autism support services.
