Alice Running (she / her) is a neuroaffirming autism specialist providing advocacy and consultancy services. Alice is also a writer and author.
She has had articles published in The Mighty, Yahoo, Special Needs Jungle, Huffington Post, The F-Word, Metro, iNews, SEN Magazine, Yorkshire Evening Post and The Big Issue in the North.
Her first book - Helping Your Child with PDA Live a Happier Life - is published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers.
Her second book with Jessica Kingsley Publishers is due for publication in November 2025 and will discuss autism and (parent-carer) blame.
In 2023, Alice authored the report Parental Blame and the PDA Profile of Autism (a large-scale survey looking at the use of parental blame within autism support provision), having also thematically analysed respondent data. Following the publication of this report (hosted by the PDA Society), Alice presented the findings at the Cross-Party Working Group for Autism (Senedd Cymru) and at the 2024 Centre for Disability Studies, Disability Studies Conference (University of Leeds).
Alice has authored a chapter inclusion - Double Empathy and Professional Scrutiny of Autistic Families - within The Double Empathy Reader: Exploring Theory, Neurodivergent Lived Experience and Implications for Practice, edited by Dr Damian Milton. (Pavilion Press, May 2025.)
Alice is currently undertaking post-graduate studies in Autism.
She is an autistic woman and parent to two neurodivergent young people with vast experience of navigating autism assessment and support pathways.
